Announcement: Fall 2020 Season

We are thrilled to announce that we’ll be kicking off the fall season for STRINGS ONLY on Sunday, September 27 from 6-7:30pm. All musicians will be required to adhere to the following safety guidelines. Failure to do so may result in being asked to leave the rehearsal. We are confident that adherence to these guidelines will result in no greater risk than any other masked activity outside the home (grocery shopping, restaurants, etc.).
* Masks must be worn at all times with both the mouth and nose being simultaneously covered.
* No stand sharing will be allowed. You must bring your own music stand and sheet music or you will not be able to participate in rehearsal for the evening.
* Seats will be placed at least 6 feet apart.
* No mid-rehearsal group breaks will occur.
* Only one person may use the bathroom at any given time.
* Proper hand hygiene is expected.
* If you are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, or if you have had a COVID-19 exposure within the past 14 days, do not come to rehearsal.
* Musicians will maintain social distancing (6 feet apart) at all times.
After much thought and deliberation, the board has decided not to proceed with small group wind instrument rehearsals at this time. As excited as we all are to resume making music with everyone, we are not confident that we can currently safely mitigate the health and safety risks with not wearing masks while playing wind instruments indoors. Nationally, very few groups are currently rehearsing with wind instruments indoors, and we would like to wait a bit before moving forward to see the potential impact on the spread of COVID-19 within these groups.
Please let us know if you have any questions! We look forward to one day being able to resume normal rehearsals, but we will be exploring alternative means of making music together in the meantime. We will also reach out to all of you if there are any major developments for the Fall 2020 season.
